/ Introduction

About the project

For a recent house remodeling project on East Blvd in Los Angeles, Oasis Builders took on the challenge of preserving the Spanish-themed character of the home while incorporating Mediterranean touches throughout a comprehensive renovation. This transformation included a 900-square-foot single-story addition and a 1,200-square-foot remodel of the existing structure, focusing on blending modern amenities with classic architectural elements.

A standout feature of the remodel was the careful integration of new elements while honoring the home’s design integrity. The project began with essential updates, including a new roof, HVAC system, and the installation of updated plumbing and electrical systems. We introduced vinyl plank flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms, while a mudroom with eye-catching Saltillo tiles offers a functional yet stylish addition to the home.

Kitchen

The heart of the home features refined elegance through high-quality materials and thoughtful design. The cabinetry, crafted from Thornton Half maple by KraftMaid, pairs beautifully with Champagne Bronze pulls and knobs. Countertops were sourced from the Cambria Signature Smithfield™ series to provide a soft white base with subtle veins that evoke a refined sophistication. For the island, we selected the Cambria “Travella” design, a striking combination of creamy tones and navy blue veins, which exudes elegance. The backsplash features the Nabi Jewel Tundra Gray 3D Crackled Glossy Glass Mosaic Tile, a hand-crafted tile that brings a dynamic touch to the space. The flooring, Natural Maple vinyl planks, complements the overall warmth of the design, while reclaimed wood shelves provide both function and rustic charm.

Master Bathroom

A serene escape, the master bathroom features Italian porcelain floor tiles from Imperial Tile, offering durability with sophisticated flair. The tub area is adorned with Hudson Penny Round Marine tiles in soothing sky blues and taupes. For the shower, we selected Midnight Mount Ledger Panels in matte porcelain, which showcase deep charcoal tones accented by delicate white veins. These panels, designed to emulate stacked stone, provide both visual impact and ease of maintenance. Reclaimed wood shelving continues the design narrative and brings texture and warmth to this elegant space. The vanity, a standout piece from the Addison Modular Collection, is a 72-inch double cabinet in Mid-Century Acacia, offering the perfect balance of modern luxury and transitional appeal.
