W 82nd St,
Playa Del Rey
About the project
For our master bathroom suite remodel on W. 82nd St, our goal was to create a Scandinavian-inspired design consisting of sleek black fixtures delivering a bold contrast with the traditional light wood in the shower and the vanity.
Our clients envisioned the bathroom as their sanctuary, but the master bathroom in its current state felt small, cramped, and anything but a respite from the hustle and bustle of their busy lives. We looked past its limitations to envision a Master Bathroom with an airy flow and a zen feel that defied its dimensions with visually-weightless features, textures, and tones.
Before Remodeling
work process
This master bathroom remodel project allowed us to reenvision a small space as a roomy, spa-like space that could become the sanctuary the clients needed it to be. We didn’t have to imagine, as we rendered a 3D design of the space to see what’s possible. As a result, we realized we needed to rework every feature from the floor up to fix the flow and breathe new life into it.
After removing everything down to the boards, we outfitted the floors in this bathroom with Downtown Collection by Roca Tile Marengo 24″x24″ R (FJTT660031). The over-sized tiles with simple lines and gray color provided the perfect backdrop for bold minimalist features, like the wall-mounted Saggia Floating Vanity and a 67″ Free Standing Acrylic Soaking Tub from the Wyndham Collection. These gave the room that airy flow and a zen feel we were looking for. For the shower, we chose tilebar’s wood-looking tile, so it’s easy-to-maintain but looks like real wood, reminiscent of an exclusive spa.
We finished the bathroom remodel by fitting the tub with Brizo Siderna Wall Mounted Tub Filler. For the vanity, the client selected Delta Modern Single Hole Bathroom Faucet with 50/50 Pop-Up Drain Assembly and, for the shower, the Brizo Thermostatic Shower System with Rain Shower Head, Hand Shower, and Side Bar. The straight lines, gentle curves, and elegant black of these fixtures really popped against the look of natural wood on the shower and vanity.
